Karnal, April 30
Union Minister Uma Bharti and Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Monday launched the ‘Gobar Dhan' scheme for Nation from the NDRI auditorium here. Under this scheme, bio-gas will be produced in one village in each district of the country by utilising livestock waste. It will also help in enhancing the income of farmers.
Union Minister of State for Drinking Water and Sanitation SS Ahluwalia was also present among the dignitaries across the country
Kunjpura village in Karnal has been identified under this scheme, which is an initiative under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural).
Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Khattar inagurated a newly constructed bus stand at the Baldi bypass. He laid the foundation stone of several projects, including the four-lanning of the Karnal-Munak road among others. He also flagged off a traffic awareness rally.
