Hisar MP Dushyant Chautala on Monday met members of the Sangharsh Samiti of 26 villages sitting on a dharna for the past 29 days at Aggarsein Chowk in the town and extended his support to their demand for the exclusion of their villages from the Sonepat Municipal Corporation jurisdiction.
He alleged that these villages were brought under the corporation not for the purpose of development but for taking control over their landed and other properties. He said that he would raise the issue in Parliament.
Surender Singh Commando, AAP MLA from Delhi Cantt, also met the villagers sitting on dharna and extended his party’s support to them.
Meantime, president of the Sangharsh Samiti Mahender Singh Kataria said that at a meeting with the office-bearers of the samiti in his office on Monday, Deputy Commissioner Vinay Singh informed them that the state government had constituted a three-member committee under the Commissioner of Rohtak Division and it would soon meet samiti representatives.
