Ambala, May 30
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sharandeep Kaur has recommended disciplinary proceedings against Ambala City tehsildar TR Gautam for violating norms and registering properties of unapproved areas in Ambala Cantonment.
The tehsildar had registered 206 sale deeds between November 8 and 10, 2017, of unapproved area showing as residential area and no photograph of the houses was taken before registering the deeds.
Following complaints, the DC constituted a committee to inquire into the allegations levelled against the officer. The committee found that there was no evidence that the tehsildar had informed the sellers as well as the buyers that the plots were in the unauthorised area.
Despite giving enough opportunities, including personal hearing, the official failed to clear his position.
As per the report, the officer had wrongly registered the deeds of the unapproved area for which no NDC (no dues certificate) and NOC (no objection certificate) were issued by the competent authority.
During the period, the Ambala Cantonment tehsildar was on leave and the City tehsildar was the link officer.
The DC said, “The committee has recommended that disciplinary proceedings against the erring officer be initiated as he was link officer to the tehsildar, Ambala Cantonment. The findings of the committee have been forwarded to the Commissioner, Ambala Division.”
