Macron seeks to defuse French protests, says fuel taxes must be fairer
French President Emmanuel Macron says he will not be pressured into policy changes because of street violence. But, as David Pollard reports, he has also proposed moves to defuse sometimes violent protests against high gasoline taxes that have caught him off-guard.
