Gurugram, April 29
Taking stern view of alleged negligence in referring a woman in advanced labour elsewhere, reportedly leading to stillbirth outside the premises, Health Minister Anil Vij has suspended two and dismissed one doctor at the civil hospital here. Sonia (29) of Daulatabad village was taken to the hospital on Wednesday.
According to her husband, she was made to wait for two-and-a-half hours despite acute pain and then referred to Safdarjung Hospital in New Delhi citing complications though she was in advanced labour and fully dilated. Her family members took her to an ambulance, where she suffered stillbirth.
“The woman had come in the last hour of labour and was in acute pain. She was made to wait and then referred to Safdarjung citing complications,” said CMO BK Rajaura. Dr Jyoti Dabas and Dr Harpreet were suspended and the contract of Dr Akshita terminated. — TNS
