Lineman electrocuted in Bhiwani
Hisar, April 29
A temporary assistant linesman (ALM) of the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) was electrocuted to death when he was repairing a connection on Haluvas feeder in Bhiwani district on Saturday.
The deceased, Mainpal (35), was a native of Bhiwani’s Chang village.
The body was taken to the Civil Hospital for the postmortem. The DHBVN employees’ union and the family members refused to cremate the body, demanding adequate compensation.
After Sanjay Kumar Ranga, Executive Engineer, DHBVN, handed over a cheque for Rs 10 lakh to the bereaved family, the family agreed to cremate the body.
Dharambir Bhati, a leader of the union, leader said the DHBVN should provide linemen with safety equipment so that mishaps could be averted. “Mainpal’s wife will get pension,” he said. — TNS
