Sonepat, June 1
Congress MP Deepender Singh Hooda has said the results of the recently concluded by-elections in the country indicated that the BJP’s downfall had begun.
He was addressing party workers at Gannaur to garner support for the Jan Kranti Rath Yatra to be undertaken by ex-CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda from Samalkha in Panipat district on June 3.
“The time has come to oust the BJP from power in the Centre and the state as the people are dissatisfied with the functioning of the government,” he claimed.
He also announced support to the farmers’ 10-day agitation wherein the supply of essential commodities such as milk, vegetables, etc. in the towns has been stopped. Growers are agitating for remunerative prices for their produce. Gannaur MLA Kuldeep Sharma also addressed the meeting and urged the workers to make the yatra a success.
Earlier, Deepender also met the representatives of 26 villages observing dharna in Sonepat for the past one month in support of their demand for exclusion of their villages from Sonepat Municipal Corporation. He extended the party’s support to their demand.
