Take back panchayat land: Govt to admn

Gurugram, June 1

The state government has directed the district administration to take possession of 46 acres of panchayat land in Gairatpur Bas and Raisina villages and lodge FIRs against the builders who illegally sold the land where over 40 farmhouses and posh villas have been constructed.

Several prominent persons, including politicians, had bought the land over a decade ago.

Local advocate RL Narula had filed a complaint at the CM Window regarding the encroachment on the panchayat land. Narula, who owns land near the 46 acres, said, “When officials of the Municipal Corporation, Gurugram, came to know that land had been encroached upon, they started dumping waste on my land.” He said that the district administration also came to know about the encroachment on the panchayat land after he raised the issue of dumping of the waste on his land. “I have been fighting the case since 2006, but the authorities did not take any action,” he said, and added that he approached the CM Window after he failed to get justice from the administration. — TNS
