Two miscreants looted a BMW car of a Panchkula-based businessman at gunpoint from near a toll plaza on the NH-1 in the district on Tuesday night.
The complainant, Jia Lal of Chaman Colony in Dhanas village of Chandigarh, who works as a driver for Sandeep Vij of Panchkula, said he was on his way to Panchkula from Delhi when he stopped at a roadside stall to purchase a water bottle. He said as soon as he sat in the car, two persons approached him seeking directions to Pundri. As he started giving them directions, one of the youths sat on the front seat and the other on the rear seat.
He alleged the accused pointed a gun at him and asked him to drive and later threw him out of the car. They fled with the car, an ATM card, Rs800 and a mobile phone battery, said Jia Lal. He said the accused were of 25 to 28 years of age and spoke Haryanavi.
The police have registered a case against unknown persons.
