Man duped of Rs 54.6 lakh

The Ambala police have registered a case against an assistant manager of a private bank and his wife for allegedly duping a man of Rs54.6 lakh.

Shivish Vasishth, a resident of Naraingarh, alleged that he had collected Rs 65 lakh for his liver transplant. He used to visit HDFC bank regularly and came in contact with the assistant manager, Sachin, who lured him of higher rate of interest following which he gave the assistant manager and his wife Rs54.6 lakh.

The complainant asked Sachin to return his money, but to no avail. Later in April 2018, the accused assured him of making direct payment through cheques, but all the cheques got bounced.

SHO Naraingarh said: “A case has been registered against the assistant manager and his wife, and the matter is being investigated.”
