Patwari held taking bribe

Rewari, May 30

A Vigilance Bureau team on Wednesday nabbed a patwari posted at the local tehsil office red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 2,000 from a plot holder in lieu of making entry of his plot in the revenue record.

Pankaj Kumar, a resident of Mandola village, said he had bought a plot at Durga Colony in the city and got it registered on March 20 last. “I had handed over the papers to patwari Vikram Singh for making entry of the plot in the revenue record but the latter sought bribe of Rs2,000 for the same,” he alleged.

Acting on the complaint, a Vigilance Bureau team laid a trap and nabbed the accused. — TNS
