Gurugram, April 30
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will contest all 90 Assembly and 10 Lok Sabha seats in Haryana in 2019, a party leader said on Monday.
The elections in Haryana will be fought “on the basis of development works done by the party in Delhi”, Aam Aadmi Party convener Naveen Jaihind said.
He spoke to the media after a local leader, Mahesh Yadav, joined the AAP with his supporters at a function organised near here on the Mehrauli-Gurugram road. Yadav was youth president of Insaaf Manch Haryana, an outfit led by Union Minister of State and MP Rao Inderjit Singh. The AAP did not contest the last Assembly elections in Haryana.
Jaihind said, “Members of Insaaf manch were dedicated workers associated with Rao Indejeet for the past 20 years. They joined us because they felt neglected. AAP is only outfit that works for development as both the Congress and the BJP are factionalised.” Naveen Jaihind also claimed the party was growing stronger by the day in Haryana and would win the Assembly election by highlighting the Delhi Development Model.
“We will highlight the development model adopted in Delhi despite countless hurdles. The state government has only changed names of the cities in the past four years, but nothing happened on the ground. We will work hard and win Haryana,” said Jaihind. Speaking on CM Manohar Lal Khattar’s road show recently, Jaihind said, “The CM cannot think of getting reelected from his constituency and is hunting for an alternative seat to contest the next election by holding a road show.” — TNS/IANS
