Gurugram, June 5
The Gurugram police along with the UP Police nabbed a CBI constable along with a woman associate while they were allegedly trying to smuggle 280 kg of Marijuana valued at Rs 70 lakh.
The accused, identified as Rajpal Yadav, is a resident of Binaula village in Bilaspur area and works as a driver with a CBI official. The UP Police had many cases under the NDPS Act registered against him. Following a tip-off about a major deal in Gurugram, they got in touch with the Bilaspur police. Both units started a joint operation and nabbed Yadav from near his residence when was loading the drugs into a canter. A woman from UP too was caught helping him. The local court has sent the woman to judicial custody. Yadav has been taken on a day’s remand by the police.
The UP police not only have him as an accused in many cases, but also suspect the role of some officials. — TNS
