Wrestler Dalip Singh Rana, popularly known as The Great Khali, registered land for setting up a wrestling academy in Samanabahu village of Karnal district on Tuesday. He has reportedly purchased around 45 kanals for Rs 3 crore to set up the academy.
“The land has been registered on my mother’s name. I will establish a wrestling academy of international standard here,” he said while speaking to mediapersons.
Khali praised the enthusiasm among the youth towards sports and urged them to stay away from drugs.
“I have been training 200 wrestlers in Jalandhar. I am organising live wrestling in Mandi in HP on June 29 and at Solan on July 7, where players from across the world will participate,” he said.
