Following the attacks and threats received by various Punjabi singers, popular Haryanavi rapper Rahul Yadav, aka Fazilpuria, fears for his life.
In an application submitted to the Commissioner of Police, Fazilpuria stated that he feared for his life and wanted police protection. He applied for an arms licence.
“He came to meet me and submitted an application seeking police protection. We are considering the application. He has even applied for an arms licence which also is being considered. There is no mention of provocation leading to fear,” said Sandeep Khirwar, Commissioner of Police.
Sources said a few nights ago, Fazilpuria’s car was attacked by an unidentified youth on MG Road who, not finding Fazilpuria inside the car, broke the registration plate. However, the rapper could not be contacted after repeated attempts.
