Panipat, June 5
The bodies of three youths, who drowned in the Yamuna Link canal in Samalkha area on Monday, were recovered on Tuesday. The victims Kala (21) of Mahawati village and Kunal (21) and Anil (21) of Samalkha along with three other friends Vishal, Ashok and Rahul had gone to bathe in the canal near Dhodhpur village when they drowned.
DSP Naresh Ahlawat said three divers were called from Sangrur in Punjab for searching the bodies. He said the bodies of Kala and Kunal were recovered near Namunda village and that of Anil from near Ahulana village in Sonepat district in the afternoon.
The bodies have been handed over to the kin of the deceased after a post-mortem examination. — TNS
